Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls,
children of all ages and, of course, my homies from
the block, where do I start? First, I'd like thank those
of you who have made time during our last few months
of non-stop touring, to come out and support the family
(Fozzy, Stuck Mojo, The Duke). An additional huge thanks
goes to those of you who have taken the time to write
the thousands of amazing emails of support that I get
every month and to those of you who have made our forums
the finest on the web. To my brother and new song-writing
partner Ed (Breaker) and to Lee, who design and maintain
our amazing websites, thank you!
Mark Willis, manager to the stars, without
you I'm a retard with a guitar, so thank you. Toad,
Lee, Dave, Corky, Matt, Richard, Bill, Brian and Chris,
I am so lucky to have you as my touring family. You
are without a doubt, the best road crew that any musician
could ever hope to have. Mike, Chris and Greg, you guys
made touring Australia one of the greatest experiences
of my life. You redefine professional and I am counting
the days until we come back over. Big John, you are
the best! I've never been more honored to work with
a record company owner in my life. Thanks for bringing
some integrity to the music industry.
Adam, our European agent, thank you
so much for all the hard work and for treating us like
family and not another commission. Luke and Lee, you
guys did an amazing job on the Mojo UK tour and I am
honored to have you as a part of my family. Thanks to
Panic Cell, Forever Never, Four Way Kill, Nineteenth
Century, Reasons Disappear and The American Devils,
for continuing our tradition of touring with folks that
are not only in great bands, but are people that we
are fortunate to call friends. The last big thanks goes
to Sean, Mike, Chris, Bonz, Eric Sanders and Eric Frampton,
who are not only the finest musicians that I know, but
are the kind of people that make everyday on this Earth
a pleasure.
2005 has been an amazing year for me
and the guys. Four trips to the UK, two trips to Europe,
one trip to Australia, one to Canada, two performances
on network TV including one at a sold-out Charlotte
Coliseum and the other in front of a sold-out crowd
at Madison Square Garden! Who would have thought; Fozzy
and The Duke playing on three different continents and
selling out almost every where we go? The other big
story of the year, "hell froze over" and the
Four Piece of Doom are back together. During the first
few months of the year, Bonz and I had Stuck Mojo together
on a trial basis of sorts to see if the water was truly
under the bridge. Now, after 3 tours and several one
off shows on two different continents, Mojo is proving
again that it is the best live band in the world. You
can take that to the bank, Bitch!
As 2005 has proven itself to be the
year of growth, so has our family grown and we have
been blessed with a new family member. New drummer Eric
Sanders, who came aboard right before the fall UK tour,
has brought a new energy and a sense of camaraderie
to both the music and to us a family. Those who have
not seen Eric play yet are in for a treat. While we
are on the subject of family, I would like to announce
a family reunion of sorts. Just about a month ago we
tracked drums and bass for a Judas Priest tribute album
with Andy Sneap at his "compound" outside
of Derby, England. Although we've talked about working
together over the past couple of years, this was the
first time since 2001 that Andy and I have actually
worked in the studio together. During the long hours
and weeks of recording Mojo's “Rising” and
“Declaration” albums, Andy and I became
brothers. Since then our brotherhood has grown beyond
music and I've been lucky to have Andy spend a few holidays
with me in Atlanta as well as a memorable trip to the
beaches of Florida. After that trip, I wheeled Andy
onto his plane in a wheelchair and, when he got home,
he spent four days in the hospital with sun poisoning.
In the hopes of topping that adventure, in February
of next year, Andy and I will enter the studio again
to record the new Stuck Mojo record. 2006 will again
be the year of Sneap and The Duke!
In some pretty amazing news concerning
The Duke and Fozzy, both projects have made the short
lists for possible Grammy nominations! The Duke song,
“Show You The Way,” has made the short list
for best male rock vocal performance and Fozzy's “All
That Remains” has made the short list for Best
Rock Album. The voting for nominations is done by The
National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, so
voting is not open to the public which keeps this from
being just a popularity contest. That being said, I've
seen the list of artists that we are up against and
they include some massive names (Robert Plant, Eric
Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, etc.), so our chances of
making the final 5 are slim to say the very, very least.
Regardless, it's an amazing honor to have your name
along side so many respected artists. Word!
In a couple of days I leave for Florida
where we will start a short run of Fozzy dates in the
southeast US. After that, I'm back in the studio to
continue writing the new Mojo record. In response to
all the great feedback that I have received from the
Australia video, I've made a couple of new tour videos
for your enjoyment. One of them features footage from
the UK dates and the other is footage taken on the Canadian
tour. You can find them on the Media page. Enjoy!
Again, thanks for continuing to support
me and the guys and our music. I owe you more than I
could ever express with words.
